Willi Bucher
Willi Bucher (* 1948 in Bühl near Günzburg) has been working as a painter and video artist since 1980. He is one of those artists who “are not willing to compromise” and he is one of those “rare contemporaries who answer questions of tomorrow and not those of yesterday” (Dieter Ronte). With his finger on the pulse of time, he captures and works on themes whose relevance points to the future. Color and canvas play just as important a role as digitally controlled technology, which he discovered for himself at the age of over 50 and uses to create an interplay of the analog and the digital, of flow and pixel. His paintings and drawings are both abstract and figurative, often large format and printed with a digitally controlled grid. As a painter and video artist he looks back on numerous exhibitions in Germany and abroad including New York, Washington or Shanghai.

News
now open: air shelter
We are delighted to announce the second exhibition in the air-raid shelter, an extension of our new gallery space in Frankfurt am Main. In Der Blick ins Unbekannte (A Glimpse into the Unknown), Willi Bucher presents a site-specific projection that intertwines visual, material, and existential dimensions. At the center is a high-definition video projected onto fine stainless steel mesh – a precise, semi-transparent industrial material whose structure evokes neural networks through its 250-micron weave.
