ON ENTERING – Bodies in Queer Spaces
“What happens when architects give free rein to artistic strategies and fantasies? What can be thought, designed, built and for what purpose? The exhibition „On Entering“ focuses on the relationship between body and space from a physical, sexual, political and social point of view. On display are works by Frankfurt-based artist and architect Roberto Barbosa and Berlin-based artist and architect Felix Anatol Findeiß (*1986). Using drawing, sculpture and photography, both artists raise questions about identity, gender or physical sensuality and alienation. As „second nature“ and designed environment, architectural spaces form places of security and representation, of exclusion and isolation. In the connection between body and space, liminal states emerge between inside and outside, freedom and restriction.“ (Aileen Treusch, Galerie 3AP, Düsseldorf)
