At our Frankfurt space, Galerie 3AP presents a solo show by Jacqueline Hen, focusing on a comprehensive presentation of her H-Series. This series examines the interplay of light, surface, and architecture through reduced, material-based image objects. The works unfold situationally, shaped by movement, changing light conditions, and the viewer’s shifting position. The light installation One’s Sunset Is Another One’s Sunrise expands this inquiry to a planetary scale, approaching light as a global rhythm and connecting individual perception with collective time. In this new installation, the sun interacts with a water basin filled with black-colored water that reflects its particles, while wind sets them in motion, accompanied by an immersive sound installation. Hen, an emerging German light artist, studied at the Universität der Künste Berlin and the ArtCenter College of Design in Pasadena and has previously worked in the studio of Tomás Saraceno. Her practice bridges light installation, painting, and spatial experiment, generating multilayered perceptual experiences. Her works unfold on light-reflective, color-shifting surfaces where layered paint creates sculptural depth. Color, light, and texture merge into a vivid, ever-changing play of perception.
