Roberto Barbosa: „Beneath the Rubble Lies the City Where I Built My Home“

We’re pleased to announce that Roberto Barbosa will be showing new works in the upcoming duo exhibition “Bajo esos escombros, está la ciudad donde edifiqué mi casa” (original title) at Museo Raúl Anguiano (MURA) in Mexico. The exhibition features Barbosa alongside Anaís Tudón and is curated by Marco Valtierra as part of the city’s Summer of Museums program.

Between what persists and what crumbles, this exhibition asks what remains when spaces no longer sustain the promises that founded them. The exhibition considers architecture as a field of tension: not only built form, but also ideological imprint, map of affections, and scene of conflict. Far from understanding inhabitation as something stable, this exhibition proposes reading structures as narratives in crisis, where the intimate, the political, and the desirable are intertwined in a single collapse.

The project is supported by the 2025 Financiarte Program grant.
