Camie Klein (*1997 in Mannheim, lives and works in Offenbach) breaks through the sphere of well-being in her first institutional exhibition and transforms the STUDIO into a fragile threshold space between presence and absence, where time, body, and environment interact with one another. The artist confronts visitors with a situation of unclear origin and draws them into it. Everyday objects meet clinical materials. Blood and soap are inscribed into them – their meaning remains open and constantly shifting. For the opening, Klein will complete the work “Intrastructure”, developed specifically for the exhibition, in a unique performative act. In doing so, the inscription of her own body into sculpture is acoustically transmitted into the space. Camie Klein presents traces of possible past identities, while visitors experience them as part of their own present. In contemplating what has been, one becomes aware of one’s own transience and is confronted with the question of what remains. The exhibition is made possible through a benefit auction by ARTgenossen, the young patrons’ association of Kunsthalle Mannheim.

Camie Celine Klein is a multidisciplinary artist working across sculpture, installation, and performance. Her practice explores the tension between abstract systems and subjective experience, focusing on temporality, transformation, and physical presence. Her work engages material, kinetic, and auditory gestures at the intersection of sculpture and performance. Klein studies at Hochschule für Gestaltung Offenbach and has received the Helene Hecht Nachwuchspreis (City of Mannheim) and the Wasmer Family Sculpture Award (HfG Offenbach). Recent group exhibitions include Plurale at documenta Kassel. Upcoming solo exhibitions include a solo exhibition at the Studio, Kunsthalle Mannheim.
