The Austrian painter’s practice explores shifting relations between interior and exterior, perception and projection, forming open pictorial spaces shaped by the conditions of seeing. Her works condense subjective states of experience rather than depicting an external world, with perception and projection understood as inseparably intertwined. The image becomes a space in which inner and outer realities permeate one another.
The exhibition takes place at Wohnung Lauxtermann, an exhibition and residency project founded in 2023 by Aileen Treusch and located at Galerie 3AP (Fürstenwall 74, Düsseldorf). The space is based in a former apartment that once served as a meeting place for a local resistance group during World War II. Today, it brings artistic production, residency, and presentation into direct relation within a shared spatial framework. Since its founding, Wohnung Lauxtermann has developed into an open and evolving curatorial format. Between 2023 and 2025, more than thirty artists participated in exhibitions, residencies, and collaborative projects. The current program continues this approach, focusing on solo presentations that highlight individual artistic positions, developed in collaboration with invited guest curators – on this occasion with Svenja Katharina Frisch. Further information on past programs can be found via Galerie 3AP.
