Emmélie Lempert

Emmélie Lempert (* 1998 in Bonn) is a German-Czech artist working at the intersection of textile, sculpture, and performative installation. Her practice explores transformation, corporeality, and the shifting boundary between human and non-human forms. In recent works, she creates archaic, animalistic costumes staged in monolithic polycarbonate frames like theatrical still lifes. Oscillating between the uncanny and the playful, her figures examine how identity is shaped through the body, gesture, and perception. Emmélie Lempert recently won the NRW Art Prize for Visual Arts 2025 and has been shortlisted for the Young Generation Art Award by Monopol and Degussa.
